High Court deputy judge president Hosea Angula has been appointed as an appeal judge in Namibia’s Supreme Court.
Angula’s appointment was announced by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on Friday.
JSC secretary Elias Shikongo said president Nangolo Mbumba appointed Angula as a judge of the Supreme Court with effect from the start of December. The appointment was done on a recommendation of the JSC.
Angula has been serving as deputy judge president of the High Court since 2015, and has also been an acting judge of appeal of the Supreme Court since 2018.
He started his legal career in 1985, when he was admitted to the legal profession as an attorney, Shikongo said.
“Justice Angula joins the Supreme Court bench with a wealth of knowledge and experience that will greatly benefit the court,” Shikongo stated.
He said the JSC “extends its gratitude to justice Angula for his dedicated service”, and congratulates him on his appointment.
