The Business and Intellectual Property Authority (Bipa) and the Namibia Public Workers Union (Napwu) have agreed to a 5% inflationary wage adjustment for all Napwu members within the bargaining unit, effective from 1 April.
This agreement builds upon the existing collective recognition and procedural agreement signed between Bipa and Napwu in 2019.
According to a media statement issued this week, Napwu deputy general secretary Mathew Ndeshikeya said they are committed to strengthening the relationship between its members and Bipa.
He urged members to maintain high-quality work standards to ensure their best interests are represented effectively.
Bipa acting chief executive Ainna Kaundu reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to fostering a positive working environment and balancing the interests of both employees and the institution.
Bipa is a non-commercial public enterprise with a permanent staff complement of 116 employees. It operates within the regulatory space and is governed by the Bipa Act.
