The Brave Warriors squad to face Cameroon and Kenya in Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers later this month includes a number of new faces and returning old heads.

Tried and tested forwards Willy Stephanus and Elmo Kambindu return to the national set-up, while young guns Lawrence Doeseb, Devin Somseb and Sergio Damaseb are notable new inclusions.

Stephanus and Doeseb appear to have made enough of an impression during the recent 2024 African Nations Championship qualifying tie against Lesotho, which Namibia lost on penalties.

Doeseb most notably scored the goal that tied the aggregate score and forced the match into a penalty shoot-out, while Stephanus, who recently ended his self-imposed exile from the national team, looked lively despite failing to convert his chances.

Also making the step-up from the Chan squad are Kennedy Eib and David Aingwafa.

Target-man Kambindu makes his comeback after losing his place in the team just before the 2023 Afcon finals.

With Namibia already eliminated from the qualifying race, the selection suggests head coach Collin Benjamin is looking to experiment in the dead-rubber encounters.

The Brave Warriors will host Cameroon in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 13 November, before playing Kenya away six days later.

The technical team will set up camp with the home-based players from Thursday until Saturday, before the full squad assembles in South Africa on Sunday.

The full squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers – Loydt Kazapua, Edward Maova, and Kamaijanda Ndisiro

Defenders – Charles Hambira, Tuli Nashixwa, Ngero Katua, Riaan Hanamub, Vitapi Ngaruka, Arend Abubakir, Sergio Damaseb, Kennedy Eib, Ivan Kamberipa and David Aingwafa
