Former first lady warns against scam using her name

Former first lady Monica Geingos has warned members of the public to be aware of a scam promoting forex trading platforms, investment opportunities, and get-rich-quick schemes.

In a statement issued by Geingos’ office on Friday, people were warned that scammers using the cell phone numbers 081 331 7884 and 081 419 2631 are impersonating Geingos.

Scammers are using Geingos’ name on various social media platforms to defraud people.

Her office clarified that Geingos does not promote or reach out to any person through personal messages asking for money or investments.

Geingos has official social media accounts tied to specific handles.

“If you are contacted by someone claiming to be Geingos and offering investment opportunities, report the accounts immediately to the platform” she said.

If you have any doubts, contact her official channels directly to verify any communications.

She urged the public to be vigilant and not fall for the scam.
