The MTC Golf Club on Friday welcomed MTC’s decision to extend their naming and branding rights agreement for another three years at a value of N$1.4 million.
The move solidifies MTC’s commitment to supporting premier sporting venues and fostering community engagement through strategic partnerships, the club said.
In addition to the financial contribution, MTC will provide connectivity for administrative purposes at the club and for the upcoming club championship.
“MTC has not only supported us financially but has also demonstrated a shared passion for developing golf in Namibia,” stated club chairman Gerhard van Rooyen.
He said since the start of MTC’s involvement, the club has experienced exponential growth, with a surge in membership and over 20 000 rounds of golf played annually.
Corporate and fundraising golf days have also flourished under this partnership, according to van Rooyen.
The branding and naming rights agreement also birthed the establishment of the MTC Women in Golf Club, which has successfully trained approximately 60 Namibian women to date.
“This continued collaboration with the MTC Golf Club will ensure MTC’s strong brand presence at one of the nation’s premier golf destinations, elevating the experience for club members and visitors alike,” said John Ekongo, MTC’s Corporate Affairs Manager.
“When MTC partnered with the Windhoek Golf Club (WGC) for the first time, at that moment the purpose was merely a branding agreement to elevate MTC and WGC’s public visibility appeal,” he continued
“Fast forward three years later, MTC and WGC expressed intention to continue. Exploration for renegotiation commenced in October, which ultimately resulted in us continuing with this wonderful partnership.”
