‘First of its kind in Namibia’

Namibia2Go, a leading car rental brand under Gondwana Collection Namibia, finally unveiled its much-anticipated state-of-the-art rental facility yesterday.

The big celebration, held at the new premises located on the outskirts of Windhoek (a five minute drive to the national airport), represented the turning point in the country’s tourism and travel sector.

The facility is being praised as the first of its sort in Namibia and perhaps in Southern Africa, with the goal of improving travellers’ self-drive experiences.

The facility, which combines modern technology and sustainability, promises to transform the region’s auto rental services.

Speaking at the event, Gondwana Collection Namibia’s Financial Director, Jaco Visser, highlighted what made Namibia2Go stand out and the innovation that goes into redefining travel experience.

“This new facility represents more than just bricks and mortar—it’s the embodiment of a culture driven by teamwork, shared dreams, and a passion for excellence. At Namibia2Go, we challenge the conventional by constantly innovating and personalising travel experiences.

The Namibia2Go Passport, for instance, is a unique tool that is packed with essential information to guide travellers seamlessly through their journeys. Combined with fully insured vehicles, round-the-clock roadside assistance, and a streamlined pick-up and drop-off process, we are redefining what a car rental service can be.”

A Landmark for Travel and Tourism

Guests were greeted by the facility’s sparkling contemporary architecture. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and environmentally friendly landscaping made a strong first impression.

Inside, the structure boasts a roomy client waiting area and cutting-edge repair rooms intended to keep Namibia2Go’s fleet on the road.

Also at the celebration, Gys Joubert, CEO of Gondwana Collection Namibia, reminisced on the company’s path, saying, “This project is a revelation of how far we have come.” I recall when we started with only 20 Dusters and a dream.

Today, we are proud of our increasing fleet, which is meant to disrupt the norm and personalise every travel experience.

This facility is a culmination of years of hard work, passion, and a vision to redefine travel in Namibia.”

The opening drew important tourism industry players, local government, and the public. Gondwana’s The Undivided Band performed among other musical pieces, the release of a new jingle called ‘Don’t you feel like driving’ which offered a fresh and upbeat element to the occasion, while guided tours of the site highlighted its amazing features.

During the ribbon-cutting event, Namibia2Go Manager Marco Clarijs spoke of the facility’s significance.

“With the launch of this facility, we want to give a top self-drive experience. Namibia2Go credits its success to the wonderful individuals that make this vision a reality.

Our workers, as major stakeholders, have been the backbone of our adventure, as has the constant support of the whole Gondwana family and our partners.”

Transforming the Tourism Landscape

Namibia2Go’s new facility is intended to draw both domestic and international visitors, cementing Namibia’s reputation as a leading self-drive destination. Tourists and locals alike were ecstatic with the convenience the new facility provided.

“This is a game changer for Namibia,” one guest stated.

“It’s exciting to see the tourism industry investing in infrastructure that meets global standards while still reflecting our unique identity.”

As the doors to this groundbreaking facility open, Namibia2Go encourages visitors to enjoy the country’s rough beauty with unprecedented convenience.

With a fleet of dependable cars and an innovative approach to customer care, the rental company is paving the road for a more promising future in Namibian tourism.
