The grandmother of presidential candidate Job Amupanda from the Affirmative Repositioning (AR) says she is proud her grandson is taking part in the presidential race.
Theopolina Adolf on Wednesday said she is happy to have witnessed her grandson’s success and is impressed by his confidence to tackle the challenge.
She was speaking to The Namibian at Omaalala village in the Oshana region.
“I am a proud grandmother today. I raised Amupanda from when he was a baby until he became a big man. He has always been an achiever and his success speaks for itself,” she said.
Adolf hopes her grandson will emerge victorious.
“I have voted for him and I’m sure he will emerge victorious as always,” she said.
Amupanda said he is lucky to also have his great-grandmother, Kuku Gwanale, alive to witness the election.
“She will be seeing us off with my grandmother when we go vote here at Omaalala. It will go well, my people,” he said.
Amupanda on Wednesday said the country would change.
“I am confident that I will win the elections. Whether I win or not, things will no longer the same I’m this country. We will put them under pressure. We want change,” he said.
