A boy (5) drowned in a plastic bucket of water at Okambebe village in the Ohangwena region on Wednesday at around 14h00.
According to deputy commissioner Bennet Muyambango, the boy and other children were reportedly left at home alone while their parents went to the polling stations.
“Upon their return, the [boy] was not seen with the other children, so the mother started a search around the house for him. One of the children ran to the smaller garden behind the house, where they discovered the [boy had] drowned in a plastic drum of water,” Muyambango says.
