A City of Windhoek spokesperson says emergency services managed to contain a fire that broke out at the Grand Canyon Spur restaurant in the city centre on Friday afternoon, and that no injuries caused by the blaze were reported.
City of Windhoek spokesperson Harold Akwenye told The Namibian on Saturday that only the first floor of the restaurant was affected and fire extinguishers managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the ground floor of the building.
“The cause of the fire has not yet been established,” Akwenye said. He said the fire started between 13h00 and 15h00, and no injuries were reported.
