The Namibian Correctional Service (NCS) is set to recruit 200 young individuals between the ages of 19 and 35 to undergo a nine-month training for the 2025 intake.
NCS commissioner general Raphael Hamunyela announced this in a press statement released on Monday.
Candidates are encouraged to apply before the due date, which is 23 January 2025. Forms are available at the nearest government offices.
Hamunyela said applicants are required to be a Namibian citizen, should have a Grade 12 and 11 certificate (new curriculum), must have 25 points in six subjects, with an E symbol in English.
“[They must ] allow his or her fingerprints to be taken to determine previous convictions, not have been convicted of any offence or have a pending case under schedule 1, not have visible tattoos on their bodies when wearing the correctional service uniform and be free from mental or physical defects, disease or infirmity, which will likely interfere with the proper execution of duties,” Hamunyela said.
No late applications will be considered, he said.
