A Musical Feast

AS part of the World Music day celebrations this year, all roads will lead to Palm Tree Park and the Warehouse Theatre in Windhoek tomorrow for a musical feast.

To keep the element of surprise, organisers have only announced a few of the musicians who will be performing at the two venues.

The show at Palm Tree park will start at 10h00 tomorrow morning and offers a blend of kwaito, French tropical, gospel, R&B, hip-hop and pop to kick off the musical line-up.

Song Night regulars Harmonic Messengers will ensure that audiences are blown away by the best in vocals, while the Rising Stars Band will take us down south with some good old traditional langarm sounds. ORI is making sure Afro-pop and Afro-fusion are well represented.

If rock blues is your thing, then The Fate of Miss H’s afternoon session is a must-see. Closing off the event in true island style is the reggae group, Petu and the Generals.

The celebrations continue at 19h00 at the Warehouse Theatre with the likes of Bertholdt Mbinda bringing some R&B sounds followed by Jeff AD for some African contemporary soul sounds.

Big Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMA) winner Ann Singer will also be entertaining the crowd with R&B and Afro-pop while Sally ‘Boss Madam’ will make sure to have you on your feet and dancing. Priscilla Dessert Queen will also be gracing the stage with Savannah Afros stepping onto the stage at 23h30 to end off the night with Afro-fusion sounds.
