ACC arrests NDF officer

THE Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested an officer of the Namibian Defence Force on charges of abusing a Government vehicle.

Major Richard Sepiso (43) was taken into custody on Tuesday morning at around 07h00 while he was driving his children to school with a NDF car, registration number NDF 0224, from the Pionierspark suburb. He was charged with contravening section 43 of the Anti-Corruption Act and appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.The case was postponed to September 9 and Sepiso was released on bail of N$2 000.Sepiso is a personnel officer at the Ministry of Defence.”The ACC wants to reiterate its zero tolerance with regard to the misuse of public resources.Perpetrators will be arrested and prosecuted,” the ACC said in a statement.He was charged with contravening section 43 of the Anti-Corruption Act and appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.The case was postponed to September 9 and Sepiso was released on bail of N$2 000.Sepiso is a personnel officer at the Ministry of Defence.”The ACC wants to reiterate its zero tolerance with regard to the misuse of public resources.Perpetrators will be arrested and prosecuted,” the ACC said in a statement.
