ACTING chief of the Ovaherero Traditional Authority Tumbee Tjombe died in the early hours of today. He suffered a heart attack in the Windhoek Central Hospital.
His death comes two weeks after being re-affirmed as acting chief following a chief council meeting held at Omusarakumba farm outside Okahandja.
The 66-year-old took the acting chief position after the death of Ovaherero Paramount Chief Kuaima Riruako, who died last month after a lengthy hospitalisation at the Roman Catholic Hospital.
Riruako was granted a State funeral and buried at Okahandja.
Riruako family spokesperson, Hoze Riruako, confirmed Tjombe’s death but could not divulge further details as the next of kin have not yet been informed.
