The African Strategic Solutions Conference is set to take place in Namibia under the theme ‘Relevance of Human Capital in a Transforming Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Era’.

The event that first kicked off in Gaborone, Botswana, in 2022 is set to take place on 7 and 8 November.

African Strategic Solutions Conference (Assco) founder and lead manager Thabo Mhlanga emphasised the significance of this event in an era marked by rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

Mhlanga said Namibia is characterised by cultural diversity, and through understanding this it would be easier to navigate discussions around AI to customise lessons from various countries and to rope in similar methods.

“What truly sets Namibia apart is its people and the vibrant tapestry of cultures they represent.

“The country is home to various ethnic groups, each with its unique traditions and contributions to the nation’s rich cultural mosaic.

“We have been humbled by the warm welcome we have received from the people of Namibia and the opportunity to learn about their customs, languages, and heritage,” he said.

Organisations are thus urged to empower their workforce in areas of change, adaptation, and efficiency when dealing with AI and digital transformation.

The second annual conference in Namibia aims to position African professionals as leaders in researching, developing, and implementing cutting-edge strategies aligned with current trends and tailored to address the challenges faced by corporate performance management departments across Africa.

Poiyah Media founder Ilke Platt, who is also collaborating on the conference, said they are looking forward to celebrating the wonders of Namibia and the success of Assco 2023.

“Together, we will explore new horizons, foster meaningful connections, and work towards solutions that benefit not only Africa but the world at large,” she said.

Minister of information and communication technology Peya Mushelenga will deliver the keynote address to officiate the conference.

The conference will cater to professionals from digital and technology-based organisations, media and advertising companies, chief executives, top-level managers in human resources and capital personnel, marketing heads and digital marketing practitioners, and company spokespersons.
