Preparations for the crowning of Miss Namibia on Saturday night are gearing up.
This was confirmed by Miss Namibia Organisation chief executive Umbi Karuaihe-Upi this weekend, saying a night of glamour awaits.
“For the first time in history the crowning event will be held right at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
“Imagine the majestic view. The glass tent outside Lüderitz Waterfront is absolutely beautiful. The massive stage and entire set-up will contribute to two spectacular shows,” she said.
The ceremony will be held at the Old Power Station at Lüderitz along the shore.
Proceedings are expected to kick off at 18h30.
“The people of Lüderitz are so happy and excited. The Miss Namibia Organisation belongs to Namibians, so Namibians should feel part of our events. The regions should compete and bid for the pageants to be held at their towns. Taking the pageants outside Windhoek makes it more exciting,” Karuaihe-Upi said.
She said tickets for tonight’s event have been sold out.
“The Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia events have become the most prestigious events on the Namibian social calendar . . . The public must attend to appreciate Namibia’s beauty, talent, culture and a great Namibian production.”
