THE !Aman clan, a sub-tribe of the Nama people, this morning begun voting in a election to choose their tribal, amid a longstanding chieftainship succession dispute.
The dispute had split the clan in two, following the death of their late tribal leader Dawid Frederick two years ago.
Christiaan Uth, a member of the clan’s election nomination committee, today said the three-horse race election is "peaceful and orderly".
He said three candidates namely Cornelius Cloete, Christof Boois, and Johannes Frederick are vying for the chieftainship throne.
