ANC wishes founding president Nujoma speedy recovery

South Africa’s African National Congress (ANC) has extended its well wishes to Namibia’s founding president, Sam Nujoma, wishing him a speedy recovery.

This comes after Nujoma was admitted to a private hospital in Windhoek last week, and is said to be in a critical condition.

ANC spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri has extended the party’s heartfelt well wishes on social media, commending Nujoma’s leadership during the struggle for Namibia’s independence.

“We join the people of Namibia, the Nujoma family, the Swapo party and the international community in praying for his strength and full recovery,” she posted.

Bhengu-Motsiri said Nujoma’s unwavering commitment to pan-Africanism has left an imprint on the African continent, and his legacy continues to inspire generations.
