Angolan man attacks countryman with panga

AN Angolan man (50) has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after attacking another Angolan man (35) with a panga.

The incident occurred at around 20h00 on Friday at a cuca shop at Oothadhambuku village in the Oshikoto region.According to police reports, the two men got into an argument.

“While arguing, the elder of the two ran home where he retrieved a panga, which he used to slash the victim on the head and left arm before fleeing the scene,” says Oshikoto police regional commander Theopoline Kalompo-Nashikaku.

The victim sustained serious injuries and is currently admitted to the Onandjokwe District Hospital.

The suspect, originally from Santa Clara, Angola, was arrested and will appear in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
