THE second rape in two days was reported at the southern town of Karasburg on Monday.
The latest victim is a 54-year-old woman who was brutally assaulted and raped in her home in the early hours of the morning.The Police have arrested two suspects in this case.The acting regional Police Commander, Chief Inspector Nicky Nampala, said the suspects gained entry by breaking the victim’s bedroom window. It is alleged they also stole a cellphone, a watch, some food and N$15 in cash.Police are investigating a string of charges including housebreaking with intent steal and theft, rape and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm against the suspects. On Friday, a 27-year-old woman was assaulted and raped next to the railway line between the town’s Lordsville and Westerkim residential areas.luqman@namibian.com.na
