Two veterinarians discovered the carcass of a white rhino bull on a farm near Okahandja on Monday.
HO Reuter and Ulf Thubbesing found the rhino with a bullet wound to its head and a horn missing.
The rhino (8) was marked with a big cross on its back.
The owner of the involved farm says this was not the first poaching incident at his farm.
Nine white rhinos were found shot and dehorned in 2017.
The farm owner says rhinos are kept on his farm to protect them against poachers.
“It looks as if the poachers kidnap the rhinos from their feeding bowls,” the owner said.
Members of Blue Rhino Task Force will be investigating the case.
