The Affirmative Repositioning (AR) on Thursday formally submitted its leader, Job Amupanda, as its presidential candidate to the Electoral Commission of Namibia.
At age 37, Amupanda will be the youngest candidate to run for president in the November Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Amupanda confirmed that his name was submitted.
“Our legal and compliance team has indeed ensured that there will be a red star on the ballot representing a generation of brave men and women, with talent and energy to take our country forward,” he said.
He said Namibians are demoralised, weakened, hungry, and unemployed.
“They need a leader to uplift their souls, give them water, and give them jobs. We are ready to fix our country,” Amupanda said.
AR was formally registered as a political party in June this year.
