‘Art in Unity’ at Woermannhaus Art Gallery in Swakopmund

An energetic, skilful team of artistic young women and men will fill the space at the Woermannhaus Art Gallery with their captivating and diverse works of art.

Inspired and motivated by artist and teacher, David Amukoto, 10 Windhoek artists organised themselves to visit Swakopmund as a group and to proudly present their work to the art-loving community at the coast.

The visitors to the gallery will be impressed by the variety and quality of works on show. David Amukoto and Ziggy Martin are masters of cardboard printing, whereas Lucky Kapanda, Elia Shiwoohamba and John Nampala are known for their exceptional lino cuts.

Paintings by award-winning Kaleb Haipinge and witty metal creations by Samwele Kamati and Rudolf Seibeb are on display as well. Fine pieces of ceramic and recycled craft objects from Marina Indongo and Ailli Mvula are part of the imposing variety of art presented by the ambitious group of Namibian artists at this exhibition.

The exhibition ‘Othele Mbate – Art In Unity’ will be opened on Saturday, 9 August, at 17h00 by Unicef youth worker Paul Ndjambula at the Woermannhaus Art Gallery in Bismarck Street, Swakopmund. The exhibition will run until 9 September 2014.
