Astonishing ECN Own Goals

CAN SOMEONE please fix the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN)? Has enough damage not been done to harm the credibility of elections over the past couple of decades?

Now we are witnessing a tragicomedy in which the ECN goes to court to sue the ECN. So comical is it that an opposition party (Landless People’s Movement) is defending the ECN’s mess in regional council and local authority elections of Hardap and //Kharas regions.

The ECN has also gone to court to reverse their own decisions at Katima Mulilo, Okakarara and Otavi. It’s a bizarre state not witnessed before that the ECN is unearthing its own irregularities instead of being sued by dissatisfied parties.

Some people have been in charge of the ECN for too long. Incompetence in the organisation will likely continue as long as they remain without performance steps being taken.
