Bank Windhoek supports Khomas Medical Centre

THE Namibian Bank of Windhoek branch manager Johan Berry handed over N$5 000 to the Khomas Medical Centre Auas Hills this morning, as part of the branch’s project of giving back to the community for the year 2020.

According to Berry, the bank is committed to uplifting the well-being of the elderly in society, especially those with families in other countries during this difficult time.

“The world as we know it has changed and we are still to find and adjust to the ‘new normal’, but to get there we all have to work together and pull our efforts in the same direction if we are to win this fight,” he said.

Speaking at the same event was Khomas Medical Centre managing partner Christo Burger, stressed that Bank Windhoek should not see this as a small donation because for family members in frail care, any small donation can make their rooms as homely as possible.

“It makes a big difference in their lives and we will use this donation to benefit our patients,” said Burger.

Burger added that the donation could not have come at a better time, as the global outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has driven their residents to uncertain livelihoods.

Burger thanked Bank Windhoek for the support towards the upgrading of the frail care facility at Khomas Medical Centre Auas Hills. He said the outreach is a sign of Bank Windhoek’s commitment to a shared agenda on corporate social responsibility and community solidarity.
