Big Brother Stargame: The Ides of May!

ROMANCE has left the Big Brother house! Namibia’s Junia was evicted on Sunday night, along with her ‘house sweetheart’, Malonza from Kenya.

On the upside, Lady May not only survived her head being on the chopping block, but pulled the most country votes last week.Still, the effervescent Junia can take some solace in the fact that she at least got one country vote. Angola threw their weight behind our girl from the South. As for the future, who knows. Whether her endless liplocking with Malonza will translate into endless love remains to be seen. Neither Junia nor the Kenyan had a problem when it came to ‘companions’ inside BBA. Both had multiple inhouse admirers!Gang Of FiveAs for Lady May, Sunday night’s respite was shortlived. The Afro Pop singer is set to be up for eviction. Again. Barring, of course, unforeseen circumstances between this column being written and last night’s nomination show.Like Herod ordering the slaughter of the innocents, South Africa’s Keagan has decreed to fellow Downvillers that the remaining three ‘brand-name’ housemates need to be purged from Upville. Top of his hit list is Lady May. And, imitative of cogs that have lost their ball bearings, all of the dutiful Stepford wives … oops, I mean Downville ‘husbands’ … have fallen into line.Only Zambia’s Talia steered clear of the plotting; Janette played along, but only partially.Keagan not only seems to think that he runs the show, but that Africa should act on his every whim. I mean Junia left because he indicated to viewers that she should go, He Who Must Be Obeyed told his co-conspirators. For this reason, he could not understand why Malonza had been evicted, and why viewers had voted for Lady May, Prezzo and Goldie.’It’s Us, Or Else …’The South African is not without one or two attractive characteristics, but winning Head of House a few times seems to have gone to his head, rather like a politician who’s been in power for too long. And so it came to pass that during a post-eviction Downville huddle on Sunday, Keagan, Keitta, Kyle, Alex and Wati plotted how to ensure that Lady May, Prezzo and Goldie are up for eviction this week. Yesterday, Keagan all but told Biggie that he, Keitta or Wati should win. Though he thinks Talia might also be in with a chance, and that maybe Janette ‘deserves a shot’.And be afraid, be very afraid, if one of the original Upvillers wins, he, Keagan, will never watch Big Brother again, he warned Biggie and viewers. So, wela kapela.Eish, Keagan, resentment is not pretty, nor is trying to threaten Biggie and viewers about what you’ll do if you don’t get your way. Terrible twos stuff that.As WhiteSockGirl wrote on TVSA’s Big Brother blog, ‘they (Downville guys) are now acting like they are re-enacting Mean Girls’.And boy, it seems that being part of a gang does wonders for the ego.The usually quiet Kyle has suddenly found his tongue, and it’s motoring like a wannabe F1 qualifier. And Alex, who’s rather like that one item in a Hidden Object game you can’t find, is suddenly visible, making the odd, if fleeting, guest appearance on our screens. With barely a month to go to the finale, it seems the dollar signs are making some people go a bit bossies!- Big Brother StarGame can be viewed 24/7 on DStv (channels 197 and 198)
