WINDHOEK – Black Africa Football Club (FC) started training on Monday in preparation for their match against South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs in the preliminary round of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) Champions League.
The Namibia Premier League (NPL) defending champions will face Kaizer Chiefs in the first qualifying round of the Caf Champions League in South Africa on 7 February, with the return leg expected to take place a week later in Namibia.
Speaking to Nampa on Monday, Black Africa coach Brian Isaacs said they began training for the anticipated tough encounter, and also for the first round of the NPL, on Monday.
He added that his club was busy making arrangements for an international friendly match or a local friendly before they face the South African team.
“The match against Kaizer Chiefs will be a tough one for us, but we will prepare fully for it,” Isaacs said.
He added that it is a challenge for them, but they were up for it.
Black Africa is currently in third place on the NPL log.
Isaacs noted that they have had a slow start in the NPL but are ready to make up for it this year.
“We want to start the new year on a high note as we want to win the league title for the fourth time in a row,” he said.
Black Africa will face African Stars on 24 January and Tura Magic on 29 January before their Champions League showdown with Kaizer Chiefs. -Nampa
