Blow to the head kills man

POLICE in Windhoek are investigating a case of murder after a man was hit on the head with a stone and died on Thursday morning.

The incident happened in Lucia Street in the Greenwell Matongo area at around 06h00, the Police reported on Monday.
* A prisoner awaiting trial on a charge of stock theft escaped from Police custody on Friday afternoon after he was allowed to buy a cigarette at a petrol station in Katutura.
* Two men died as a result of a knife fight at an Okahandja shebeen on Friday night.
The two men had been visiting the Kombabe shebeen at the Lafena location when they started fighting and stabbed each other. Both died on the spot.
* Thieves stole a Toyota Hilux bakkie from a house in Dorado Park on Thursday afternoon between 17h00 and 18h00.
The vehicle is valued at N$80 000, and has not been recovered.
