Body found in Walvis Bay dunes

The police at Walvis Bay are seeking the public’s assistance in helping to identify the body of a man that was found in the dunes near Narraville on Sunday.

According to Erongo police spokesperson chief inspector Ileni Shapumba, the body was allegedly discovered by a man who identified himself as a pastor, when he went to the dunes to pray at about 11h00.

“The police attended to the scene yesterday and upon investigation it was suspected that the victim might have committed suicide by consuming a poisonous cockroach killer substance. The victim had no documents on his body and as such, was not identified,” Shapumba said.

He was wearing a white T-shirt and grey shorts with white stripes.

He is dark in complexion and suspected to be between 30 and 40 years old.

Anyone missing a family member is urged to contact warrant officer Johannes Sinoya at 081 7190643, detective chief inspector Johannes Mwatongwe at 0812461121, or the Narraville Police Station at 064 – 219071.
