Boyfriend, nephew arrested for allegedly killing woman at Swakopmund

A man and his 23-year-old nephew have been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of Jogobeth Gawanas (37), whose lifeless body was discovered on Saturday in a house on Kovambo Nuyoma Street at Swakopmund’s Mondesa area.

According to the weekend crime police report, a blood-stained kitchen knife was found near her body. The report further alleges that Gawanas, her boyfriend, and his nephew lived together in the house.

According to the police, the boyfriend reportedly left the house around 06h30, leaving Gawanas and the nephew behind.

When he returned later that morning, the boyfriend allegedly discovered her body and alerted the police.

Both the boyfriend and his nephew were arrested as suspects.

The police are currently investigating the matter.
