Brave Warriors climb three places to 111

Namibia’s Brave Warriors climbed three places to 111 in the world on the latest FIFA rankings which were released on Thursday.

During the period under review, Namibia played one match, losing on penalties away to Zambia in Lusaka in the Chan competition for home-based players.

Namibia is also ranked seventh in the SADC region and 32nd in Africa.

South Africa, which is ranked 72nd in the world, is the top ranked nation in SADC, with Zambia ranked second (73rd in the world) and Angola third (89th in the world).

The rest of the top ranked nations in SADC are Mozambique (97 in the world), Malawi (98), Zimbabwe (108) and Namibia (111).

Algeria, which has a world ranking of 19, is the top ranked country in Africa and is followed by the Ivory Coast (21 in the world), Ghana (27), Tunisia (34) and Senegal (39).

The rest of the top ten African nations are Cameroon (42), Congo (43), Cape Verde Islands (50), Egypt (52), Nigeria (53) and DR Congo (59).

The big movers in Africa are Mauritania, who climbed 15 places to 113 in the world and Malawi who climbed 10 places to 98.

The big losers are Benin, who dropped 18 places to 114 and Rwanda who dropped 13 places to 91 in the world.

Argentina remains the top ranked nation in the world, while Belgium moves up one place to second, with Germany dropping one place to third in the world.

The rest of the top ten nations in the world are Colombia, Brazil, Portugal, Romania, England, Wales and Chile.
