Brave Warriors preliminary Afcon squad

Brave Warriors coach Collin Benjamin on Friday named a preliminary squad of 34 players for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations finals due to start in the Ivory Coast on 13 January.

The squad will participate in a three-day assessment training camp starting today. 

The squad will be trimmed to 27 players before the team’s departure for their official Afcon 2024 training camp.

Namibian-based players are expected to report at NFA Soccer House by the latest at 14h00 today. 

The preliminary Namibian training squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers:

Lloydt Kazapua, Ndisiro Kamaijanda, Jonas Matheus, Edward Maova. 

Defenders:

Ryan Nyambe, Ivan Kamberipa, Erasmus Ikeinge, Lubeni Haukongo, Kennedy Amutenya, Denzil Haoseb, Ananias Gebhardt, Riaan !Hanamub, Charles Hambira, Aprocious Petrus. 

Midfielders:

Devin Somseb, Ngero Katua, Petrus Shitembi, Prins Tjiueza, Romeo Kasume, Marcell Papama, Uetuuru Kambato, Wendell Rudath, Joslin Kamatuka, Alfeus Leevi and Simon Elago. 

Forwards:

Absalom Iimbondi, Peter Shalulile, Betuel Muzeu, Junior Petrus, Deon Hotto, Erastus Kulula, Edmar Kamatuka, Steven Damaseb and Sam Ndahangwapo.
