LONDON – A new poll suggests half of British voters would prefer anyone other than Prime Minister Gordon Brown to lead the country.
The Populus survey published yesterday by The Times of London newspaper found 61% of respondents believe Brown is a liability. Only 34% of those questioned believe he is an asset for Britain.According to the newspaper, 48% of those questioned agreed that ‘literally anyone’ other than Brown would be a better national leader.Support for Brown’s Labour Party was at 27%, behind the main opposition Conservatives on 41%.Populus interviewed 1 504 adults by telephone between September 11-13. No margin of error was given, but in samples of a similar size it is plus or minus 3%. – Nampa-AP
