Grade 7 pupils from C Ngatjizeko Primary School in Gobabis met Prime Minister Hage Geingob on 3 October at the old state house in Windhoek.
The excited group journeyed to the capital to speak to the Prime Minister about how the country is runned and to acquaint themselves with branches of government.
The aim of the tour was to groom the pupils to become responsible citizens in the future and to learn about the duties of the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister was delighted to meet the group as he engaged in dialogue with the visitors in which he educated them on various local governors and the importance of knowing about their leaders and to be responsible for their own future.
”I want young people to do things for themselves. Do something for yourself and ask government to meet you halfway. Let us address poverty, education and housing. And let's continue to live in peace, democracy and unity,” he said.
“I feel great because this is my first time at the old state. We have learned a lot about his office and what he does and we will learn from that,” said Diana Samka, a pupil at the school.
“I also feel good because I'm here with my friends and I got to see my Prime Minister in person and the tour around the old state house was fun,” added Elsie Tuaendavi another pupil.
