Cricket Namibia (CN) and Capricorn Group have announced the Namibia women’s national cricket team.

The Capricorn Eagles take on Uganda in the upcoming Capricorn Eagles Series at the newly developed High-Performance Cricket Oval in Windhoek from 8 to 17 April.

The series will feature six T20I matches and one 50-over game, presenting both teams with a crucial opportunity to improve their international rankings and gain valuable competitive experience on their journey toward global recognition.

This highly anticipated clash follows the teams’ last encounter in March, when Uganda claimed victory in the Women’s Day Cup Final on home turf.

“One of the most exciting additions to this series is including a 50-over match, a format that fans have eagerly anticipated,” CN said in statement announcing the clashes yesterday.

“This longer-format game will provide the Capricorn Eagles with an opportunity to showcase their skills beyond T20 cricket, offering spectators a thrilling and strategic display of the game.

“The series is more than just a competition—it is a testament to the growth of women’s cricket in Namibia and an opportunity for the Capricorn Eagles to test themselves against good opposition,” the organisers said.

“Cricket Namibia invites the public to witness this exciting display of high-quality women’s cricket, featuring two of Africa’s top Associate nations battling it out on home soil.

“This series is a fantastic opportunity for fans to support women’s cricket and experience the excitement of international competition right here at home.”
