The Capricorn Eagles, Namibia’s national women’s cricket team, have touched down in Hong Kong to compete in the Hong Kong Women’s T20I Series which runs from Wednesday through to Sunday.
They will face Thailand, China, and the host nation, Hong Kong.
Entering the tournament as the second highest-ranked team – at 17th globally – after Thailand, the Capricorn Eagles are determined to showcase their talent and proudly represent Namibia.
This ranking reflects their steady rise in the global cricket arena, and the team is eager to improve.
Namibia previously hosted Hong Kong in 2023; the Eagles were the better team at home, but this tournament presents a fresh challenge. Playing in Hong Kong’s backyard will test the Eagles as they seek to assert themselves on foreign soil.
The matches will be action-packed, with all four teams hungry for victory and eager to demonstrate their skills in a competitive environment.
Cricket fans won’t miss a moment of the action, as the games will be broadcasted live on ICC TV. Additionally, live scores will be available on Cricinfo, ensuring supporters can follow every ball and boundary.
The Capricorn Eagles’ participation in this tournament is more than just a pursuit of victory; it’s an opportunity to inspire future cricketers in Namibia and beyond. With an exciting brand of cricket on display, they aim to leave a lasting impression on the international stage.
