Capricorn schools netball finals

Windhoek Gymnasium will be a hive of activity this weekend when the finals of the Capricorn Schools Netball Leagues take place from u13 to u19 level.

With the final league matches taking place on Friday, the teams will be battling it out for the knockout stages, with the quarterfinals, semifinals and  finals to follow on Friday and Saturday. 

Windhoek Gymnasium are very well placed in most of the age groups.

They are assured of finishing on top of the u19 league, as they cannot be caught by the other title rivals anymore. Windhoek Gymnasium lead the log on 27 points with two matches in hand, ahead on goal difference over A Shipena Secondary School who have completed their fixtures. Ella du Plessis are third on 24, while Windhoek High School are fourth on 22 points. 

The u17 category is still wide open with three teams in the running to finish on top. Windhoek Afrikaanse Privaat Skool (Affies) lead the log on 39 points, having won 13 of their 15 matches with only two defeats.

They, however, can still be caught by second-placed Windhoek Gymnasium who are on 36 points with three matches in hand; as well as WHS who are third on 33 points, with three matches in hand. 

Affies lead the u15 league with 31 points from 12 matches, but they can still be caught by second-placed WHS on 25 from 10 matches, and third-placed Windhoek Gymnasium, on 24 points from eight matches.

Windhoek Gymnasium look set to top the u14 league as they currently lead the log on six points, followed by Pro-Ed, WHS and Affies who are all on three points. 

Walvis Bay Private School currently lead the u13 category on 30 points with one match remaining, but can still be caught by Windhoek Gymnasium who are on 27 points with two matches remaining, and Affies who are on 24 points with four matches remaining. 

Tsumeb Gimnasium, who lead the u12 category on 18 points with one match remaining, cannot be caught anymore, with Affies and Windhoek Gymnasium following on 15 points each. 

The action starts at 14h00 tomorrow and continues at 08h00 on Saturday. 

The finals start at 11h00 on Saturday with the u13 final, while the u19 final is scheduled for 14h30.
