A 32-year-old man was arrested on Monday after he allegedly smuggled 12 cattle into Namibia from Angola valued at about N$100 000.
The man was arrested at a village in Omusati’s Outapi constituency.
Omusati crime investigations coordinator, deputy commissioner Moses Simaho, said the livestock was smuggled through an ungazetted point of entry.
Simaho said one of the cows tested positive for lung disease.
The suspect is due to appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
