KEETMANSHOOP – The Keetmanshoop Municipality has warned property owners in the town’s central business district that road-upgrading work will start today.
In a notice made available to Nampa, the local authority appealed to the owners of affected properties to take the necessary precautions to minimise damage to their properties. Alternative arrangements for parking arrangements can also be made with the municipality. The local authority angered residents, car owners and business people during the last festive season when some of the streets in the CBD area were resurfaced. Many property owners complained that the bitumen used on the roads damaged the floor coverings in their buildings.Residents also complained that many of them had had to throw away shoes because they were damaged beyond repair by the bitumen. Some car owners claimed that the wet tar on the streets had caused car accidents. The pavements and floors in some buildings still bear the scars of the last road-upgrading project, but the roads themselves are no better than before.-NampaAlternative arrangements for parking arrangements can also be made with the municipality. The pavements and floors in some buildings still bear the scars of the last road-upgrading project, but the roads themselves are no better than before.-Nampa
