CDV calls on members to vote for opposition parties

THE Christian Democratic Voice (CDV) wants its members and supporters to vote for opposition parties where it does not field candidates.

CDV president Gotthard Kandume also warned that a divided opposition will never bring change.

The CDV has only field candidates for the local authority elections only at Henties Bay.

Kandume called on CDV members and supporters to vote for the United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate for the regional elections at Henties Bay. At Khorixas and Sesfontien, CDV supporters and members should vote for UDF candidates, while at Kamanjab and Outjo, votes should go to the Landless People’s Movement (LPM), Kandume added.

In the rest of Erongo, excluding Henties Bay, CDV members should vote for the LPM, he said. In Khomas, //Kharas, Omaheke and Hardap, CDV members should vote for the LPM.

In Okahandja, votes should be cast for the UDF candidate in the regional elections, while Kandume wants CDV voters to support the LPM candidate in the local authority elections.

Kandume said in the rest of the Otjozondjupa region, CDV members and supporters should vote for the LPM.

In the northern regions, CDV members should cast their votes for any opposition candidate, while in Kavango East and Kavango West, as well as in the Zambezi region, votes should be cast for the All Peoples Party (APP), according to Kandume.

The CDV has its main supporters in Pentecostal and charismatic Christians. The party demands that Namibia be declared a “Christian state” and endorses that spiritual leaders are needed in parliament.
