Cohen Fistball Club I and SKW 4 remained at the top of the National A and B fistball leagues after the fourth league round at CFC over the weekend.

The action got underway with the u12 and u15 junior categories on Friday afternoon. SKW dominated both categories, with their A and B teams finishing joint-top in the u12 category, while SKW A won the u15 category with three wins and a draw, followed by SKW B and CFC A in second and third places respectively.

SKW also comfortably won the u18 category, finishing five points ahead of SFC A, followed by SKW 2,  SKW 3 and SKW 4,with the top four teams qualifying for the semifinals next month.

In the National A League, the reigning champions, CFC 1, remained undefeated with three 3-0 wins to secure the maximum 45 points and first place on the table after four league rounds. SKW 1 also won all three their matches, but with an inferior points aggregate, to finish second, while SFC 1 had a mediocre day after losing to SKW 1 and CFC 2.

Cohen’s second team finished fourth on the log after beating SFC 1, and have a slight advantage in the play-ins for the semifinals over SKW 2 who finished three points behind them. SFC 2 who finished sixth, however, are out of the running for a semifinal place.

With three wins from four matches, SKW 4 underlined their title ambitions in the National B League which they now lead with 48 points. Behind them are club colleagues SKW 5 with 44 points, who will try to reach first place in the play-offs in order to get a supposedly weaker semi-final opponent.

The biggest loser of the day was SKW 3, who slipped to fourth place with three defeats and thus missed out on a direct semi-final place, while CFC 3 moved up to third place.

Bobby Sinclair was named youth player of the day.
