Changes at Ohorongo Cement

Changes at Ohorongo Cement

THE board of Ohorongo Cement has announced changes in the company’s senior management structure.

Uwe Müller, who has acted as General Manager of Technique at Ohorongo Cement, will take up a senior position in the Schwenk Group in Munich, Germany, next month.
The board unanimously elected Hans-Wilhelm Schütte (previously General Manager of Finance) as Managing Director of the entire operation.
Over the last year and a half Müller has been instrumental in doing the groundwork and bringing the N$2, billion Ohorongo Cement plant north of Otavi to the current construction phase.
The CEO of the Schwenk Group and Chairman of Ohorongo Cement, Gerhard Hirth, said: ‘Ohorongo Cement would like to pay recognition to Mr Müller for his dedication, hard work and commitment, which certainly made a huge contribution in the process of realising our dream of building Namibia’s own cement plant. We wish him all the success in his endeavour as a senior manager in Munich, and we take comfort in knowing that his expertise will always be available to us as he is not only a member of the Schwenk but the Ohorongo family as well.’
