Chile Futsal Club remained at the top of the NDTC Futsal Premier League, while Julinho Futsal Club were crowned the first division champions in matches over the weekend.

Chile were made to work hard by 7 Kings but they eventually ground out a 4-2 win.

Wesley Otto put Chile ahead with a fine shot from the right wing in the fourth minute, but 7 Kings defended resolutely and had some chances of their own.

Denzel Kadungure had a shot tipped over for a corner but Bornface Siyanga eventually made it 2-0 when he stabbed home a cross by Martin Humphries.

However, 7 Kings immediately opened their account when T-Larow Swartbooi scored from the restart, but a cracking shot by Larsch Richter put Chile 3-1 ahead at the halftime break.

After the break, 7 Kings came back strong and reduced the deficit to 3-2 when Swartbooi stabbed in a loose ball, but Immanuel Angula put Chile 4-2 ahead with a shot from an acute angle.

Chile coach Mefflint de Waal praised his forwards after the match.

“We struggled to break [7 Kings] down, but we have some sharp shooters who scored three goals from long range and that’s how we managed to score,” he said.

“This was one of those scrappy games where we missed chance after chance and we became frustrated, but luckily we had some very good forwards that helped us today,” he added.

That win saw Chile maintaining their unbeaten run and saw them moving up to 36 points after 12 matches. Quality, however, are right behind with 33 points after a 6-2 win against The Mavericks.

Quality dominated the first half with goals by Ezio Chivas, Silvino Andre, Luis Solunga, Eduardo Solunga and Chisloth Nunda, while Ronaldo Xoagub added a late second half goal to complete a commanding win, keeping their title hopes alive.

Windhoek Futsal Club remain third on the log with 30 points after beating Ineos FC 3-0 through goals by Mzwandile Mento, Daniel Dausab and Denzel Mulunga, while Ballers are fourth with 27 points after beating JAC FC 6-1.

In other results, Patriots beat WIAS 5-4, while Boston Madrid and Ragazzi drew 3-3.

Julinho FC, meanwhile, won the First Division after beating Santastico FC 3-1 on penalties in the final on Saturday, after a goalless draw at the end of normal time.

Both Julinho and Santastico, as well as Maxi FC who finished third, have now gained promotion to the Premier League.
