China’s foreign affairs minister, Wang Yi, says his country remains Africa’s most trustworthy ally despite changing international relations.
Wang met with vice president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Monday morning at the old State House in Windhoek.
“China and Africa have always understood, trusted, supported and helped each other,” he said.
“China and Africa’s relationship is characterised as an all-weather community with a shared vision for the future,” the foreign affairs minister said.
The minister arrived on Saturday and is set to meet with president Nangolo Mbumba at Swakopmund on Monday.
This is his first stop, as he will also be visiting the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad and Nigeria.
