A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery during which close to N$800 000 was stolen at a fuel station in Windhoek two weeks ago.
According to a police report, the suspect was arrested at the Oshana region village Omaalala on Friday last week.
“The suspect then took the investigation officers to his house at Engela Lashikolongondjo village where cash of N$58 400 was recovered, which was given to the suspect’s mother,” the police reported.
Construction materials allegedly bought with the stolen money were also confiscated by the police.
The police reported earlier that a fuel station in the Monte Christo area of Windhoek was robbed by a group of men on 12 March.
The robbers allegedly stole about N$790 000 that was to be collected from the service station by a security company.
