City of Windhoek appoints new CEO

Moses Matyayi

The chief executive officer (CEO) of the Otjiwarongo Municipality, Moses Matyayi, will now take the reins at the City of Windhoek.

This was announced by Windhoek mayor Joseph Uapingene during the monthly city council meeting on Wednesday evening.

Matyayi came second during the previous round of interviews for the position.

The city’s first option, Roads Authority CEO Conrad Lutombi, opted to stay in his current position.

The city has been without a substantive head since November 2020, when its previous CEO, Robert Kahimise, resigned.
