City of Windhoek launches mobile app for clients to manage accounts

The City of Windhoek on Thursday launched a new mobile app which allows residents to manage accounts and access statements.

The app can also be used to report incidents like potholes and traffic light issues, submit meter readings, and verify taxis and businesses.

Windhoek mayor Queen Kamati said the mobile app, along with a revamped website and the municipality’s customer charter are part of their ongoing efforts to refine and enhance municipal services.

“These platforms encapsulate our promise to be more accessible, efficient and transparent in serving our valued residents, while reinforcing our commitment to enhance municipal services and augment our customer care value proposition,” Kamati said.

Kamati said the customer charter embodies the municipality’s pledge to residents and to ensure that the city remains steadfast in its value proposition to deliver fast, effective and efficient services.

“Windhoek plays a pivotal role in development goals and it is essential for us to continuously review our strategic frameworks, policies, funding, customer care value proposition and implementation modalities, in our commitment to render efficient and effective services to the benefit of our residents and key stakeholders,” Kamati said.
