Cocaine intercepted

A container suspected to have a large amount of cocaine has today been intercepted by the Erongo police and customs officials.

This was confirmed by Erongo crime investigations coordinator Erastus Iikuyu who, however, said it was much too early to give details as units were on the scene in the harbour to find out more.

Although he did not confirm this, a tipoff The Namibian received suggested that the container came from Brazil and was in transit through Walvis Bay.

Cocaine is one of the more expensive illicit drugs on the market compared to its derivative, crack cocaine (rocks).
