THE private flying company Comav, has pointed out that it does not operate flights on behalf of Air Namibia.

Commercial Manager at Comav, Frank Aldridge wrote to The Namibian saying an article in the newspaper of June 10 had wrongly claimed that his company was “performing flights on behalf of Air Namibia”. Aldrige said Comav has not flown aircraft for the parastatal since June 2002, “but only leases aircraft to them for use on their domestic routes”.The article in the newspaper reported that one of Comav shareholders, Andre Compion, who is also a senior manager at Air Namibia had dropped a lawsuit against junior staff who had accused him of using the parastatal to profiteer for his private company.Compion said he did not withdraw the lawsuit, but that a settlement was reached.Aldrige said Comav has not flown aircraft for the parastatal since June 2002, “but only leases aircraft to them for use on their domestic routes”.The article in the newspaper reported that one of Comav shareholders, Andre Compion, who is also a senior manager at Air Namibia had dropped a lawsuit against junior staff who had accused him of using the parastatal to profiteer for his private company.Compion said he did not withdraw the lawsuit, but that a settlement was reached.
