Minister of education, arts and culture Ester Nghipondoka has visited Choto Primary School, where 16 classrooms are currently under construction.
The ministry says the new school will contribute to decongesting other schools and will become a teaching and learning hub for Katima Mulilo and the rest of the Zambezi region.
Primary schools at Katima Mulilo are currently overcrowded due to urbanisation, the ministry says.
“The ministry is hard at work to accelerate infrastructure development, and has thus far managed to construct over 1 000 classrooms in less than 12 months, equitably in all 14 regions,” it says.
