D-Jay releases ‘Pain’

EVEN if your days are gloomy and your soul is weary, there will always be a song that speaks to that exact emotion. When in despair, there is a sad song that will unleash a chain of reactions and amid the tears, you will find solace, satisfaction and relief.

Award winning hip-hop artist D-Jay’s new song ‘Pain’ is one of these. The track also features Rob Eboy and D-Jay says the song is a result of a collaboration between the two.

“We were driving around and going through different beats and when this beat came on we started writing. The next thing we drove to the studio and started working on the song,” D-Jay said.

With emotional lyrics such as ‘I just want to take pain away. I want to put it in a box and tell the mail man to send it real far away,” the song delves deep. D-Jay says ‘Pain’ stands out from previous work which mostly consisted of party tracks and love songs.

D-Jay hopes to inspire those going through a tough time.

“I took my personal story and mixed it with everything that is currently going on. There is so much pain in this world. I have also been going through a few ups and downs and felt like it was time to connect with the people through my talent. I figured that it was my time to offer some motivation. Through all the tough times my hope is for people to see the light again,” the rapper said.

The song covers topics such as domestic violence, murder, people losing their jobs and families who are torn apart by the financial crisis.

“I felt like there was so much pain around us. I was watching the news the other day and I was not happy with a lot of the things that are taking place in our country,” he said.

D-Jay plans to shoot a video later this year. “I have not shot a video in a long time. I feel like I will let many people down if I don’t, because many people dig the track already. TV misses me also. I have been releasing a lot of music, but have been quiet with the videos due to other priorities. We have already received a few calls from talented directors who would like to work with us. My fingers are crossed for the best. I have a good feeling about this and I have not had this feeling for many years now,” he said.
